°° SETA : Eleganza Criminale °°

Quando sentiamo la parola seta, una dei primi stereotipi  che pensiamo è ad un qualcosa di “lussuoso”.. La seta è un tessuto pregiato, ricercato, e anche molto costoso. Ma ci soffermiamo solo su questo. Tutti infatti sanno l’importanza di tale tessuto, ma in quanti sanno da quale sofferenza scaturisce la seta?

Se il cotone deriva dal fiore di cotone coltivato per gran parte in America o il Lino dall’omonima pianta, la seta non viene da niente di vegetale: deriva infatti da un baco (definito “da seta”, appunto) allevato affinchè diventi “filo” da tessere. I bachi vengono

alimentati, fatti crescere, e nel momento in cui l’animale si cotruisce intorno la crisalide che serve per poi diventare una farfalla, il bozzolo viene gettato in acqua bollente, dove verrà estratto il filo di seta che si viene a strotolare dalla crisalide. L’animale all’interno della crisalide (ovviamente, in acqua bollente) muore.

Per ogni filo di seta, una farfalla in meno che vola libera nel mondo. E’ giusto uccidere in nome della raffinatezza?
